The IP addresses on the system interfaces do not respond to ping, it is not possible to ssh/ping the IP address for the Service Processor (SP). When attempting to connect to the SP via the serial management port it connects straight through to the systems's console output, not to the login prompt for the SP. There may be several messages about akd failing to start and eventually being put into maintenance. A screen is displayed with the error message about akd, giving the option to halt or reboot the system.
Access the OS shell of the system from the serial management port, the key combination "Esc 9" will bring up an "aktty" prompt, at this prompt type "bash" to be able to enter a shell and type commands. akd cannot be started, the data pool cannot be imported. The output from smbios shows that the chassis serial number (CSN) is not available:
Attempting to access the preboot menu in order to check that that "serial_is_host" setting is 0 to force login to the ILOM (SP) when using the serial management port also fails. You can access the preboot menu either by
CauseFaulty SP is stopping enumeration of the disks correctly by akd as it is unable to read the CSN. The console output is direct from the system rather than allowing login to the SP because the SP is faulty. SolutionPlease log a call with Oracle Support. It is likely that the motherboard will need to be replaced to fix the problem with the service processor.
