Applies to:

Exadata Database Machine X2-2 Hardware - Version Not Applicable to Not Applicable [Release N/A]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Storage Cell iLOM randomly reboots due to the reported error "Out Of Memory".

Changes

Recently upgraded to the software version 11.2.2.4.2, and Lights Out version shows (iLOM version) 3.0.16.10 r65138

Cause

This is due to abug with iLOM version in 11.2.2.4.2

CR 7121350: "Exadata X2-2, Service Processor restarted due to Out-Of-Memory condition".

There is currently no timetable for release of an image that will contain a version of ILOM that corrects this behavior. However, the behavior does not in any way adversely affect the performance of the platform.

Solution

Restarting the SP perioidcally will help workarounding this issue. We need to wait for the next iLOM release for this fix.

As of now, we dont have fix included in 11.2.3.1.0 for the Exadata X2 systems.
