SymptomsThe messages were initially reported for Memory Risers/DIMMs. With the exception of the FANBD messages, these messages are benign and do not require hardware replacement. CauseThe issues are the result of incomplete I2C reads triggering a warning from ILOM. The system uses I2C to confirm presence of devices and when a poll read fails the code does not retry to confirm but sends out a removal message, on the next polling cycle the read completed and the device is "discovered" and a 'hot insertion' message is printed. SolutionFor hot insertion / hot removal messages pertaining to memory or CPU throttling messages, the fix is obtained in firmware 7.2.10.a and later. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
