Symptoms


CheckHWnFWProfile reports disks are not identical. It shows below message.

# /opt/oracle.SupportTools/CheckHWnFWProfile

[INFO] This is informational message and not an Error. All drives are not identical.
[Enclosure:Slot:DiskType:DiskMake:DiskModel:Diskfw]
[SUCCESS] The hardware and firmware profile matches one of the supported profiles
I'm looking for how to address the info message above.

Changes

A bad disk has been replaced recently.

Cause

sundiag_megacli64-PdList_short_2012_03_20_10_38.out shows below.


Slot 00 Device 11 (SEAGATE ST914603SSUN146G08680952828VK7 ) status is: Online
Slot 01 Device 10 (SEAGATE ST914603SSUN146G0868095282BMD3 ) status is: Online
Slot 02 Device 12 (HITACHI H101414SCSUN146GSA250931EVEK1A ) status is: Online <<<Slot 03 Device 08 (SEAGATE ST914603SSUN146G0868095282BMHC ) status is: Hotspare


Solution

The message from database node is because not all disks are identical.
The database nodes are allowed to have mixed disk vendors so this information notice can be safely ignored.
