Symptoms

5802 Load Errors
FSC5802

Cause

5802 errors are usually caused by the tape leader being pulled out of it's home position in the cartridge.
When this occurs the drive leader is unable to buckle to the leader.
This will fail on every drive the cart is loaded in until the leader is repositioned back to the home position.

Solution

Have the customer eject the cartridge from the library.
Then have them open the cartridge window and verify that the leader is visible and in the home position.
If it is not and the tape is critical then a FE will need to be dispatched to correct the problem.
