Applies to:

Sun StorageTek VSM System - Version: 4 to 5C - Release: 4.0 to 5.0
Sun StorageTek V2X SVA Disk System - Version: Not Applicable to Not Applicable   [Release: N/A to N/A]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The VSM or SVA subsystem posted the SIM ref code 7359. Below is the definition for the ref code 7359:

 FSC7359_SNS_MIM_DISABLED_SIM 0x7359

The subsystem has encountered a condition that would normally
generate a MIM (Machine Initiated Maintenance). Because the
maintenance ports are not enabled the machine cannot initiate
a service call. Please contact your service provider to
request service.

Cause

A MIM has been generated on a machine that has both the
Ethernet and serial MIM offload paths disabled. This SIM is
being created to report the event. The original MIM's FSC
is stored in bytes 30-31 in the SIM's SNS data field.

Solution

Check sense bytes 30-31 in the sense data for the SIM to get the original  FSC Code

Connect to the subsystem with either CSRC or SDP.  Download and analyze the internal files to determine the cause of the MIM

If there is a defective part, page the local FSE to replace it.
