You can swap one power supply while the other two are still running. For a non-redundant power supplies configuration, the system should be already powered down before replace the bad power supply. 1. Identify the power supply that you want to remove. 2. Release the AC power cord from the strain-relief tie-wrap on the power supply. 3. Unplug the AC power cord from the power supply and the AC power outlet. 4. Loosen the two captive Phillips screws securing the power supply to the system rear panel. 5. Pull the power supply out from its bay and wait for an acknowledgement message on the system console before installing a new supply. 6. Slowly slide the new power supply into its bay until the connectors on the power supply are fully engaged with the connectors on the power distribution board. 7. Tighten the two captive screws that secure the power supply to the chassis. 8. Connect the AC power cord to both the power supply and a dedicated AC power outlet. 9. If you installed this part as a new option while the system was powered off, you need to perform a reconfiguration boot. A reconfiguration boot is required in order for the operating system to recognize the new device. WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: If the replacement was a hot swap on a redundant configuration, the system should be operational and need no further work. If the replacement was in a system with a single power supply, restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.
