Symptoms

Unable to Upgrade KMS to Version 2.3.1, Activation Button is Grayed Out.
Unable to upgrade firmware.

Changes

Documentation is being updated and will be in next release of manuals.

Cause

The following Documentation is incorrect:

- Oracle Key Manager: Systems Assurance Guide, page-56, November 2010 Rev: D, PN316194806.

- OKM 2.3 Admin Guide Rev AA. Chapter 7, page-295 of Operator Guide.

-Administrator Guide, 316195101 • Rev. A, Chapter 1, page-17.

-The Release Notes for 2.2.2 & 2.3.1 are also incorrect.  The release notes for 2.4 are correct.

2.4.x KMS code is not yet available as of June 2011.

Solution

One needs to have a security role to activate the upgrade.
This is not a non-secure operator function.
The gui roles from KMS Manager do say you need security tole to activate.
