Checked for relevance on 9-August-2011. SymptomsTape alert 24Result code 6455 RC6455 When a T10000A or T10000B drive gets 100,000 cartridge loads, it will set tape alert bit 24 which is defined as Predictive Failure. The SL8500 log will show, 'driveLoadLimitAlert' set with a result code of 6455. Note: This will affect any library that a T10000 drive is put into. ChangesThis change went in the code in 2006 and we are now starting to see drives that reach this number of loads in the field. CauseOnce the 100K load threshold is reached the drive will send back this alert for every cartridge loaded. SolutionThis flag or trigger point is NOT to be used to replace drives. There is no danger to damaging tapes. 1.48.103
code increased the drive load count threshold from the 1.46.109
value 100,000 to 150,000 for the T10000[A/B] release. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
