Solution
Drive towers have been replaced for this problem.
The following solution should be tried prior to drive tower replacement.
- Acquire a quality contact cleaner from a local electronics supply store.
- Spray the connector in the suspected drive tower slot.
- Push the drive in/out several times.
- Let the solution dry on the connector.
- Install the tape drive/tray assembly into the drive tower.
- Power up the library and tray assembly.
The drive should now show up in the library configuration.
