Symptoms

Upgrading KMS version can fail to activate if the SCA6000 Mars Crypto card has failed.
During the upgrade, the card BIOS gets updated. If the card has failed or not detected by Solaris OS, the code activate can not continue.

Check KMSAuditEntries Log:
If the below message is seen, this is an indication that the SCA6000 card has failed.

Change Software Version - Update firmware failed, cannot continue software activation - Error 000154000258

Solution

Resolution
If SCA6000 Crypto card has failed or is not detected by Solaris, then the KMA will need to be replaced. The SCA6000 card is not a FRU.
