PreviouslyPublishedAs 229625
Applies to:Sun StorageTek VTL Plus Storage ApplianceAll Platforms . ***Checked for relevance on 15-06-2011*** (dd-mm-yyyy) SymptomsFailover not completing successfullyNBU cannot automatically rediscover virtual devices after failover CauseVTL failover was designed to use WWPNs moving (spoofed) between nodes for failover, but AIX uses acids (SCSI ids) for the robotics and the acids change when a data path is moved to another switch port. This port swap happens when failover occurs causing a manual reconfigure of the devices to be necessary.SolutionResolution Fix provided in VTL Plus Build 1323 and above. Refer to VTL Release Notes, section "Usage Notes for High Availability for AIX with Brocade & McData Switches".
