Symptoms

Configured slots not reported back to Back-up Application
Slot count does not match
Cell count is incorrect
Total slot count not reported back to host or back-up application

Changes

None

Cause

C2, C4, slot count reported back can be less than the reported total count depending on how the cabinet and library configuation is done.

Solution

Resolving configured slots not reported back to Back-up Application:

The total number of Slots reported by the library following a power-on/reset audit

back to the host or backup application can vary and not by an insignificant amount.

That report depends on the setting used in the cabinet set-up and library set-up screens on the library front panel or from the control administration software.

Example if you turn on both load ports to entire magazine(s), you will report from the library setup configure slots display only the fixed slots (2) in the library.

Turning on either left or right only "one column or entire" will give you a number above 2 but less than total number of slots.

Disabling both magazines will give you max number of I/O slots for use but no magazine ports for use.

See examples in attached tech tip for information on the total number of slots reported by the library following a power-on/reset and audit back to the host.
