Solution

Resolution
The SL8500 host IP address can be configured with an IP address which conflicts with the SL8500 internal LAN resulting in IPL and initialization errors.
These errors will potentially prevent some of the library sub-assemblies from coming online to the Library Controller.

The following block of IP addresses should not be configured for the Host IP Interface on the SL8500 HBC card. Consider the following range of IP addresses be reserved for the SL8500 and not for customer use:

10.0.0.0----10.0.225.255

Note: The first usable customer IP address in this range is 10.1.0.0.

This exposure exists all code levels.

Conflict, SL8500, IP Address, Drives, S-bot, Host IP address, Library controller, CAP, Host IP Address Conflict in code level 3.31.00 and below., Errors potentially prevent some of the library sub-assemblies from coming online to the Library Controller.
