Allegro drives are Fujitsu drives and all qualified Fujitsu drives for the 3310 are either Allegro-8 or Allegro-9 type drives. Bug 2124572 is the same as the above bug but is specifically for the LSI 1030 host bus adapter as noticed in the messages below: May 10 13:55:10 hwhlr-ph2 scsi: [ID 365881 kern.info] /pci@1e,600000/scsi@2,1 (mpt1): May 10 13:55:10 hwhlr-ph2 Rev. 8 '''LSI, Inc. 1030''' found. Refer to <Document: 1012309.1> SCSI bus reset & transport errors on Sun StorEdge[TM] 3310 SCSI array with Ultra320 SCSI HBA The above document helps to resolve any issues with the speed negotiation. If in spite of resolving any issues with the speed negotiation, the problem persists, then most probably you are hitting bug 6195171. The following patches are available: Currently there is no x86 patch for SunOS 5.8 If the above still doesn't help, the following could contribute to this problem: a) Disk firmware. Product Sun StorageTek 3310 SCSI Array Sun StorageTek Ultra320 LVD PCI Host Bus Adapter Sun StorageTek Ultra320 SCSI PCI Express HBA, Dual port Internal Comments Fujitsu (Allegro) drives in Sun StorEdge 3310 SCSI array connected with Ultra320 SCSI HBA can cause SCSI bus resets and transport errors.
The x86 T-patch can be obtained by contacting the bug responsible engineer for Bug 2124572 This solution has no attachment |
