Symptoms
When sidefile was built up to reach the set threshold due to some Truecopy (TC) data link failing, Truecopy Asynchronous (TCA) did not suspend which subsequently causes the HPUX Servers Oracle databases and filesystem crashes. When TC OFFLOAD TIMER is set to Zero and when the sidefile usage threshold exceed the PENDING UPDATE RATE %. TCA do not SUSPEND which causes the SE99x0 cache usage to built up further. When the SE99x0 cache reaching bottleneck level, this would cause severe performance problem and possibly servers lost of access to the SE99x0. This issue had been documented in HDS Alert 9900V_045449 USP + RAID450: TCA - LINK FAILURE No SUSPEND - Severe Performance Problem.
Cause
Customer had set in Sun StorEdge [TM] 9900 TrueCopy (TC) operations the Offload Timer to 0 and sidefile threshold to the default of 50%

Comment: Hi Weng-Fatt,
Thnak you for writing this knowledhe article. I have checked it over, and it is almost ready to publish. I have one request though...
Can you please supply an example of how to set the "OFFLOAD TIMER to 1" . A copy of a file, or a snapshot of a user interface screen is what I am looking for. This will make it easier for people to follow if they try to do this.
