Establishing communication with DR daemon...
Can't clnt_create:ccpi11: RPC : Program not registered

Cause

Possible misconfiguration of inetd.conf.

Solution

Nowadays, security is a serious issue. Sometimes, when trying to protect our systems, we can disable some features that are needed for correct operation of the system. If you see the above errors, check the /etc/inetd.conf file for the domain. The DR line should be:

300326/4	tli	rpc/tcp wait root /usr/platform/sun4u1/sbin/dr_daemon dr_daemon

If the line is commented or missing from /etc/inetd.conf, you will not be able to use DR in that system. To solve the problem, perform the following as root user:

  1. # cp /etc/inetd.conf /etc/inetd.conf.bak
  2. Correct the inetd.conf file
  3. # ps -ef | grep inetd
  4. # kill -HUP <inetd.pid>
