Issue Description:
The battery on the SE5210 LSI MegaRAID board is not charged or maintained after
initial startup but the write cache is always set to write back. When the battery
is fully discharged, if there is a power outage any data in the cache will be lost.
This can cause data corruption or data loss.
Affected StorEdge 5210 systems in the field will have a 540-6250-03 (upper level
part number) or lower. The MegaRAID card (less the TTBU memory DIMM) will have
a part number of 375-3208-02 or lower.
While waiting to schedule the replacement, a PCI reset or power cycle will
recharge the battery and lower data loss/corruption probability.
A customer list identifying affected systems can be viewed via the
below "Internal Only" URL:

To assist the field in a communication of this issue to customers, a
Customer Letter is provided via the URL:
http://sdpsweb.central/FIN_FCO/FCO/A0257-1/SPE/FCO257Legal_custlett-1_v4.sxw
Root cause is provided below:
1. Battery not detected by charging circuit by the MegaRAID daughter board
2. Erroneous cache management policy by the MegaRAID firmware
3. Inaccurate communication of states to the 5210 Host
Corrective action was made available by Sun manufacturing via ECO# WO_31006
