Issue Description:
E10000 system board Scalable Coherent Interface (SCI) SBus cards have
the potential to be missed by hpost.
Upon initial power on of an E10000 system board, the SCI SBus card may fail
to initialize properly. When this happens, the card will not be configured
into the system by hpost and any devices connected via these cards will be
inaccessible. Any applications that are dependent on these cards and/or
their associated devices will become off-line.
Only E10000 systems with SCI Cards installed are affected.
The root cause determined that the vendor's SBus card does not
follow the SBus Card Specification. The fix is an update to the
Programmable Logic Device (PLD) on the SCI Card that continually
tries to initialize the vendor's card until successful.
Corrective action was put in place in Manufacturing by releasing part
number 370-2868-02 via ECO WO_21083 on July 10, 2001. Corrective action
was put in place in Enterprise Services via LEAP# 1633 on July 18, 2001.
