Issue Description:
SBus/FC SOC+ Host Adapters may experience recoverable data transfer read
errors. This can result in individual user applications, like Oracle, to
stop running.

Examples of errors are listed below.

a) SUNWvts /var/adm/messages file xfer errors with Release5 patches installed:

    Jul  6 11:06:51 tester unix: WARNING: /sbus@2,0/SUNW,socal@d,10000/sf@1,0
    (sf1):
    Jul 6 11:06:51 tester unix: Transport error on target=0x4:
    Fiber Channel: INCOMPLETE DMA XFER on sbus

	The message "INCOMPLETE DMA XFER on sbus", indicates that the
	transfer failed. This is a retryable error and the driver will
	reissue the I/O.

b) SUNWvts log file xfer compare error with or without Release5 patches
   installed:

    Big compare failed on 'device', block 122491, offset 12876

	The message indicates that the data transfer to memory does not
	match that written to the disc.

c) ha.test error output with or without Release5 patches installed:

    *** INTERNAL LOOPBACK: luxdiag int /devices/sbus@f,0/SUNW,socal@0,0:0 ***
    *** TESTING PORT: lbf -t ffffffff -n 1000 -k 64 -c
        /devices/sbus@f,0/SUNW,socal@0,0:0 ***
    * pass 1 *
    Ioctl returns: -1, errno = 5
    Passes = 216.
    Total elapsed time = 4 seconds.
    Throughput = 3538944 bytes/sec.
    * pass 2 *
    Buffer mismatch at index 2039: expected ffffffff, actual 7fffffff.
    Stopped at pass 122.
    Passes = 122.
    Total elapsed time = 2 seconds.
    Throughput = 3997696 bytes/sec.

	The "Buffer mismatch at index 2039: expected ffffffff, actual
	7fffffff" potion of the messages indicates a bit failure on the
	Host Adapter.

The root cause is related to bit corruption in the SBus interface internal to
the SOC+ chip (p/n 100-4262-02).

All SOC+ host adapters manufactured prior to the Date Code 9833, which
have not already been tested with random I/O, SUNWvts, or ha.test and
lbf62.scr are suspect.

Manufacturing implemented corrective action on August 6th, 1998 via
Worldwide Stopship/Purge WW001#03533. Enterprise Services implemented
corrective action by purging stock via DPCO# 134.A starting in late
January 1999.
Implementation:
---
  	|   |  	MANDATORY (Fully Pro-Active)
	 ---

         ---
        | X |   CONTROLLED PRO-ACTIVE (per Sun Geo Plan)
	 ---

         ---
  	|   | 	UPON FAILURE
	 ---
Replacement Time Estimate:
30 minutes
Special Considerations:
Corrective Action:
1. Check patches and upgrade system to the latest Patches and Firmware
   as required (see COMMENTS section below).
2. Check /var/adm/messages file for xfer errors.
3. Reseat all GBIC cards, optical cables and disk drives.
4. Run the Host adapter test and Loop Integrity test in the
   STORtools diagnostic toolkit.

If no errors occur, or none are found in /var/adm/messages file
no further action is needed.

If any failures occur during testing, or are found in /var/adm/messages file,
replace those failing FRUs (if listed in PARTS AFFECTED section of this FCO)
with one having a date code later than 9833 or having a DPCO#134 label on the
assembly.
Comments:
As the above mentioned error messages could be caused by outdated software
or firmware please make sure that the latest patches and firmware revisions
are installed.  Refer to the latest Patch and Firmware Matrix on;

  http://storageweb.eng.sun.com/tm/photon/main/

Revision checking is also available with StorTools available for download from;

  http://storageweb.eng/tm/STORtools/StorTools1.html

A single command verifies patch levels, array and drive firmware revisions,
and reports discrepancies.

Also reference FIN #: I0400-1:

StorEdge A5x00 disks drives should not be reconfigured such that there is
a backplane (front and rear) without any disk drives installed. This may
precipitate the generation of intermittent errors.

If the A5x00 must be configured with all disks on one backplane, the empty
backplane should be bypassed using the front panel module. Reference the
Enterprise Network Array Installation and Service Manual for detailed
instructions.

________________________

i) In case of Mandatory FCOs, Enterprise Services will attempt to contact
      all known customers to recommend the part upgrade.

ii) For controlled proactive swap FCOs, Enterprise Services mission critical
     support teams will initiate proactive swap efforts for their respective
     accounts, as required.

iii) For Replace upon Failure FCOs, Enterprise Services partners will implement
     the necessary corrective actions as and when they are required.
