Issue Description:
In order to improve return rates on the Ultra 2 350Watt Power Supply
(p/n 501-1315-01) a new part number (p/n 501-1342-01) has been released
incorporating several product quality improvements. Some of the failure
symptoms that these improvements address are;
1. Fan may contact internal parts causing fan noise.
2. Power supply may fail with no outputs.
3. Floppy drive may have read errors because of a "common mode noise" problem
caused by the PCB layout in the power supply.
The Ultra 2 350W Power Supply is still a good quality power supply and will
continue to be used in the SunService Logistics inventory since there is no
need to purge it. Only under the special circumstances, as listed under
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS, should the new power supply (p/n 501-1342-01) be
ordered.

Replacement Time Estimate:
30 minutes
Special Considerations:
In situations where a customer is expressing a strong distrust for the
quality and reliability of the 300-1315-01 power supply then it may be
reasonable to replace the 300-1315-01 with the newer 300-1342-01 power
supply, but then only upon failure. Engineers should not take it upon
themselves to substitute part numbers as a general practice without
just cause.
Corrective Action:
Upon failure replace 300-1315-01 with 300-1315-01.
The 300-1342-01 may be used to replace the 300-1315-01 but only when
the 300-1315-01 is not available OR in situations as stated above under
the Special Considerations section.
Do not use a 300-1315-01 to replace a 300-1342-01.
