This document provides troubleshooting steps for issues involving platform power supplies.

A Troubleshooting Guide is provided to assist in debugging a specific issue. When possible, diagnostic tools are included in the document to assist in troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting Details

The power command reports incorrect number of Good 48V Power Supplies

Symptom:

Power is reporting that some or all of the power supplies are not good

Number of Good 48V Power Supplies       : 0
Required Number of 48V Power Supplies   : 7

However visually the power supply is on and looks functional.

Resolution:

Investigate the following in order:

Is the platform an all-fiber configuration (no SCSI)? If so, review power supply and logic vs. frame ground.
Is cbe reporting other component status correctly? Ensure the cbe<-->cbs communication is intact. This includes the private network configuration.
Are the sense cables to the A/C Input Module loose?
If all power supplies are reported dead, switch to the alternate control board
