Solution Type Troubleshooting Sure Solution 1010454.1 : Sun StorEdge[TM] 9900 series: How to obtain troubleshooting information for Graph-Track issues
PreviouslyPublishedAs 214365 Description If problems occur with the HDS SE99xx Graph-Track software product, and the advice in the User Manual's Troubleshooting section is insufficient, further analysis is needed. HDS has supplied a method to collect diagnostic data for in-depth analysis. Steps to Follow Detailed Graph-Track Version 6 troubleshooting data collection: First and foremost - check the HiTrack Configuration Information. Verify that the information is correct. This section gathers logs of the "Connection/Data Gathering" attempt from the Graph-Track side. * Start up Graph-Track (it has to be running minimum of 3 time intervals and collecting data that shows the problem). In the case of a "Connection failure" problem, just make the attempt. * Perform a Graph-Track system snapshot while connected to any / all subsystems while running GT Client. SNAPSHOT a) From the GT Client GUI: - Select the Tools dropdown menu - From the upper task bar and select Technical Services. - From that select System Snapshot. When it finishes, Graph-Track will display a system popup message indicating completion of the snapshot. b) Start the Graph-Track Administrator from the Graph-Track program group. c) In the Graph-Track Administrator: - Select the Maintenance tab - And in the center of the window locate the "Archive Files" activity group. - Choose only the pre-selected entries - At the bottom of this group, select the "Archive Now" button. d) All relevant information will be compiled into a single archive ZIP file posted to the c:\Temp subdirectory, under the name of GTR6Archive.zip for Graph-Track Version 6 or gtR5ARCHIVE.zip for Graph-Track Version 5.10. * At the SVP, for any subsystem defined and involved in the problem diagnosis, gather the files gt.log & hitrack.log from C:\HDS directory on the SVP. Also search for and send the grphtrk5.ini. Since Graph-Track communicates with Hi-track on the SVP, these files provide the view from the Hi-Track side of the connection.
