Steps to Follow
Sun StorageTek[TM] 5000 Series NAS Arrays: Troubleshooting missing Luns

1. Verify that the system is not a gateway:

A Sun StorageTek[TM] 5310/5320 NAS Gateway would not come with any backend RAID storage which is also referred to as captive storage. Check the licenses in the telnet menu or on the asmin CLI prompt

a. To check using the telnet menu.
Option "4" on the menu will list the licenses.

b. Using the CLI prompt. Use the "lm" command :

  NAS1 > lm report

If the above shows an active Gateway license, then you do have a NAS gateway.
Please proceed with the analysis using document <Document: 1012986.1>

2. Verify that the power supplies are working all right. Refer to Technical Instruction  <Document: 1009839.1>

3. Verify that the correct power-up sequence has been followed.

The expansion enclosure(s) must be powered up first, before the controller array(s) and finally the Sun StorageTek [TM] 5000 Series NAS Appliance. The expansion enclosure(s) and controller array(s) must always be powered up and properly connected to each other and the main appliance before powering up the Sun StorEdge NAS Appliance.

4. Verify that all new and existing drives are online and configured. For details refer to Technical Instruction <Document: 1008493.1>

5. Validating the LUNs on the NAS. Refer to Technical Instruction <Document: 1013078.1>

6. Create a case and send the diagnostic email and nas extractor. See Technical Instruction <Document: 1005474.1>
