Solution Type Troubleshooting Sure Solution 1004888.1 : Sun Fire[TM] 12K/15K: Memory Test timeouts at highest hpost levels
PreviouslyPublishedAs 206852 Description When running hpost at levels >= 96 and with low verbosity (and no postrc trace_print commands), the memory testing will timeout. Steps to Follow With hpost level of 127 and default verbosity, timeout errors can be seen similar to the errors shown here: Proc SBxx/Px timed out on test Memory Tests id=0x3D. Test Failed. FAIL Proc SBxx/Px: test_seq_cwd(): failed out of config on timeout on SB 11, 13 and 15 WORKAROUND: Add "poll_timeout_mult 4" to .postrc file. Product Sun Fire 15K Server Sun Fire 12K Server Internal Comments This will multiply all timeouts by 4, thus giving enough time for the test to complete. The downside is that all timeout are multiplied by 4. For any CPU which has 2GBytes or more memoryThe default timeout is 2400 seconds, but at these levels, it takes about 1.85 seconds per MByte of memory, thus 2GByte on a CPU takes over 3600 seconds.
