No specific skills required DELIVERY REQUIREMENT: schedule with maintenance window *FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS* PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Faulty rack mount kit WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: 1. Powering off the system 2. Disconnect all the cables and power cords from the server 3. Extend the server to the maintenance position 4. Press the metal lever that is located on the inner side of the rail to disconnect the cable management arm(CMA) from the rail assembly 5. From the front of the server, pull the release tabs forward and pull the server forward until it is free of the rack rails 6. Remove mounting brackets(right side and left side) from the server 7. Attach new mounting bracket(right side and left side) into the server 8. Insert the ends of the the mounting brackets into the slide rails 9. Insert the new PCI card into the slot 10.Slide the chassis into the rack 11.Connect all the cables and power cords from the server 12.Powering on the system OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: PARTS NOTE: REFERENCE INFORMATION: Service Manual. http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E19088-01/ TIME ESTIMATE: 60 Minutes Attachments This solution has no attachment |
