No specific skills required DELIVERY REQUIREMENT: Immediate *FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS* PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Faulty PCI card WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution. The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown. Then power down the system and disconnect the Power Cord. WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: 1. Powering off the system 2. Remove the rear cover 3. Remove the air baffle 4. Locate the PCI card that you want to remove 5. If necessary, make a note of where the PCI card is installed 6. Release the PCI hold-down bracket 7. Carefully remove the PCI card from the PCI card slot and riser board connector 8. Place the PCI card on an antistatic mat 9. Insert the new PCI card into the slot 10.Rotate the PCI hold-down bracket 90 degrees to lock the card in place 11.If a PCI long card is installed, use the brace from the air baffle to support the card 12.Install the rear cover. 13.Powering on the system OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Performing a reconfiguration boot if necessary to recognize the new PCI card.
