No specific skills required DELIVERY REQUIREMENT: Immediate TIME ESTIMATE: 30 Minutes FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Faulty graphic card WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution. The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown. Then power down the system and disconnect the Power Cord. WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: 1. Powering off the system 2. Remove the top cover 3. Disconnect any external cables attached to the faceplate of the graphic card. 4. Release the latch securing the graphic card to the chassis. 5. Pull the graphic card from its slot 6. Place the graphic card on an antistatic mat 7. Install the new graphic card into its slot 8. Rotate the latch down and secure it with the retaining pin. 9. If necessary, connect any external cables to the graphic card. 10.Install the top cover. 11.Powering on the system OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Performing a reconfiguration boot to recognize the new graphic card.
