When a robotic hand is unable to load a cartridge into a tape drive in a StreamLine library, e.g. SL8500 or SL3000, an error is generated by the library, either a 3337 or 3357. The tape should be ejected from the library and examined for physical defects, such as a cracked case, a stuck hub or damaged leader block. In this Document

Error 3337 (Fault Symptom Code) Error 3357 (Fault Symptom Code) GoalProvide instructions on how to identify potentially defective or damaged cartridges within Oracle StorageTek SL8500 or SL3000 Tape Libraries that can cause 3337 and/or 3357 result code error messages. Solution--- Purpose ---Check for broken, cracked or physically damaged cartridge shell. If any damage is found, the cartridge should not be entered back into the library. Discard or destroy the cartridge if it does not contain critical data. Determine type of cartridge by media identifier and inspect cartridge based on media type.
