Goal

How to manually check VTL logs for connectivity
Qlogic HBA status
VTL
How to check connectivity to SCSI or Fibre Channel devices

Solution

SSH into the VTL in question and check the following logs for errors:

# cat /proc/scsi/scsi

# cat /proc/scsi/QLA2300/#

--Where # is the port number you are checking, valid ports are numbered 0-5
