Goal

Unisys support for SL3000 library.
Required Unisys operating system level and required Unisys client software level to support SL3000 library.

Solution

Steps to Follow
Oracle/StorageTek does NOT support attachment of ANY Oracle/StorageTek product to a Unisys platform.
Oracle/StorageTek does not test on any Unisys platform and does not have any engineering support that is trained on Unisys platforms.  Oracle/StorageTek cannot sell to any customer for attachment (directly or indirectly) to Unisys because we cannot support it.  Oracle/StorageTek would be putting a customer at risk should anything fail to operate now or in the future. 
Instead, Unisys does all testing and necessary modifications to Oracle/StorageTek equipment and Unisys is Oracle/StorageTek's exclusive distribution channel (by contract) for Oracle/StorageTek products. This applies to upgrades and new products.  Unisys also sells Oracle/StorageTek's break-fix maintenance and professional services. When Unisys sells the hardware to the end user, they take full responsibility for compatibility now and in the future.


Unisys receives OEM discounts from Oracle so that they can be very competitive with any pricing Oracle would offer directly.

Skip Lightsey and Kurt Zimmerman do all of the pricing activities for Unisys so when you have a list of hardware ready, they can provide the necessary pricing for sale to Unisys and Unisys can provide their price to our mutual end user.
