PreviouslyPublishedAs 230782
Applies to:Sun Fire 3800 ServerSun Fire 4800 Server Sun Fire 4810 Server Sun Fire 6800 Server All Platforms GoalStarting with:- 5.16.x firmware on the Sun Fire[TM] 3800, 4800, 4810, and 6800 systems - 5.17.x firmware on the Sun Fire[TM] V1280/E2900 (Requires SC V2) there is the option to use either telnet or ssh (secure shell) for command line network access to a Sun Fire system controller. As of this writing, there is no way to send an ASCII break via an ssh client. With telnet, it was possible to do this via CRTL-] (telnet escape) and then typing in send brk . SolutionSteps to Follow A new escape sequence has been added to the firmware to allow for this functionality in an ssh session. The sequence is:
(Carriage return, then pound, then period) Since this escape sequence is programmed into the system controller firmware and has little to do with the ssh client itself, it also works in telnet sessions. The character sequence, #. (pound-dot) is the default escape sequence, but can be changed via the setescape command in the platform shell. Use setescape -h to obtain help for this command Product Sun Fire 6800 Server Sun Fire 4810 Server Sun Fire 4800 Server Sun Fire 3800 Server Internal Comments For internal Sun use only. This procedure will also apply to the 1280/E2900 as well when the ssh server functionality becomes available on it. serengeti, ssh, break, 5.16, domain console, domain shell Previously Published As 74436 Version: 0 Attachments This solution has no attachment |
