PreviouslyPublishedAs 230348 Description Because the documentation isn't clear, this document gives the procedure to register a Sun StorEdge[TM] 6120 into Configuration Service. Steps to Follow With a Sun StorEdge[TM] 6120, the users are not created by default and you need to follow this procedure to register a new StorEdge[TM] 6120 in CS (Configuration Service) and to be able to manage it through the GUI or sscs. 1. Install the "Sun StorEdge[TM] 6x20 Host Softwares": - Sun StorEdge[TM] SAN Foundation software - Storage Automated Diagnostic Environment - Sun StorEdge[TM] 6120 Configuration Service Software - Sun StorEdge[TM] 6120/6320 Remote Configuration CLI (SSCS) You have to install at least the "Sun StorEdge[TM] 6120 Configuration Service Software" on the management host, the others are optional. 2. Use you prefered browser to login to CS (http://<ip management host>:9080) as root. The password is the one of root on your management station. 3. Go to Administration -> Users, then you need to add a user with the role "storage". This user has to be defined in the /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow files on the management host. 4. Logout 5. Log back in with the user you created above in step 3. 6. Go to Array Management -> Array Registration, then you can register a new StorEdge[TM] 6120 to be managed by CS. This procedure is only for the SunStorEdge[TM] 6120. The Sun StorEdge[TM] 6130 and Sun StorEdge[TM] 6920 have their embedded mechanism.
