Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 1017641.1 : Sun StorEdge[TM] 6130: Controller firmware baseline in Management Host Software v2.1 is 06.12.09.10
PreviouslyPublishedAs 228825 Description Management Host Software v2.x, also known as Sun StorageTek[TM] Configuration Service, is available from the following sources: - Sun StorageTek[TM] 6140 Array Host Software CD This software can be used to manage a Sun StorEdge[TM] 6130 array, however the controller firmware baseline included for the 6130 (06.12.09.10) is lower than the latest released controller firmware for that array (06.12.10.11). Steps to Follow Please review the following information. If a Sun StorEdge[TM] 6130 array running firmware 06.12.10.11 is managed by v2.1, then various actions will cause the software to report the array does not meet the firmware baseline, and will recommend an "upgrade" to 06.12.09.10. This is really a downgrade, and the array can stay at firmware 06.12.10.11 In the Configuration Service GUI, the recommendation will be seen when first registering the array using the "Register Array" wizard, or when upgrading firmware, running the "Analyze and Upgrade Array Firmware" wizard. At the "Analyze Array Firmware" step of the wizard, it will report that the "Current Firmware" for the Controller is 06.12.10.11 while the "Baseline" for the controller firmware is 06.12.09.10. The pre-selected action will be either "Upgrade all" or "Upgrade, no disks", with the message "Full upgrade is recommended, array is not at the baseline". In these circumstances, the action can be changed to "Do not upgrade", and the warning message that is reported ("Some functions might not be available unless all array components are at the baseline") can be ignored.
