GoalHow Auto clean Works in L Series Libraries.SolutionSteps to FollowHow Auto Clean Works: The tape drive sets a bit in the Library/Drive interface during an unload when the drive detects that a cleaning is needed. The library mounts a cleaning tape, which is compatible for that drive type, from the play ground holding area reserved for that type media, before the next mount command for that drive is executed. The library uses the VOLID (DG CLNxxx y The Media type on the cartridge label is used to determine compatibility with the drive type.
Auto Clean is enabled when the tape library is initialized and detects cleaning cartridges in the reserved cells.
