EMC/Legato support reported this as an unsupported configuration, but FalconStor's compatibility matrix lists AIX and Networker as supported with VTL.  We found the Legato driver for AIX not to be compatible with Sun-STK libraries.
Sun-STK virtual libraries
Qlogic or Emulex HBAs did not experience the same problems as the IBM HBA.  Another option would be to swap out the IBM HBAs.
