Goal

Is there a manual that contains a list of SIM messages and their meaning?

Solution

No. The SIM messages are a result of certain Fault Symptom Codes (FSCs) and the descriptions are not written in a user-friendly format (in other words, these messages are not intended to be interpreted by the customer).   However, please refer to Knowledge doc "How to Determine the FSC from the Sense Bytes in Message SLS6659I".

Also, the mainframe host receiving the SIM messages will call home if SDP is installed.  SDP will then automatically create a support ticket and Oracle support will then remotely troubleshoot the issue.  If SDP is not installed, customer can contact Oracle support for assistance.
