SolutionSteps to FollowUse the following steps to resolve this problem: 1. Verify drive is at current firmware version. This can be done by displaying code level on the library Op Panel or SLC. If not available use SCSI/FC Toolbox to pull this information. Refer to 2. Review Error logs for FSC's and possible media issues. 3. Identify tape problem if original tape fails on an another drive. 4. Run diagnostics on drive with a known good tape. This can be done using STDS on 9x40 drives of SCSI/FC Toolbox for LTO and DLT drives. Refer to 5. If diagnostics pass; check connectivity between drive and host. 6. If diagnostics fail; clean drive with a cleaning cartridge and run diagnostics again. 7. If diagnostics still fail; replace the drive.
