PreviouslyPublishedAs 217116 Description This procedure describes the removal and installation of a SCSI disk drive on a Sun Fire[TM] V250 while O.S. is running. Steps to Follow How to remove a disk drive from system with OS running (hot-plug). Before physically removing a disk drive while the Operating System is running, it must be removed logically. Note: In this example bellow Disk 8 is the disk to be removed/installed. 1. Confirm that the drive is no longer visible to the O.S. #format Searching for disks...done AVAILABLE DISK SELECTIONS: 0. c0t0d0 <SUN72G cyl 14087 alt 2 hd 24 sec 424> /pci@1d,700000/scsi@4/sd@0,0 Specify disk (enter its number): Select a disk and type # quit The system no longer see the drive, the blue "OK to remove" indicator is lit on the drive to be removed. The drive is now safe to be removed. Install Procedure: 1. Install the new drive. 2.
