To configure the "NET MGT" Port (ALOM (Advanced Lights Out Manager) Ethernet) please check: Technical Instruction <Document: 1004884.1>: How To Configure the "NET MGT" Port (ALOM (Advanced Lights Out Manager) Ethernet) Port. SolutionSteps to Follow When ALOM POST completes, and host system is powered up or Solaris[TM] is either booting or running, the serial line takes the console write permission automatically, i.e will never ask for login or gives an ALOM prompt, rather it will give a system login prompt. This is especially true for a new and headless system unless the OBP input-device and output-device parameters were previously changed to some other values. If the net management interface is configured, telneting to it and doing a 'showusers' will show:
This indicates that there is an unknown user on the serial port that has the console write access. For the admin user from net-1 to have console write access, the user must issue the 'console -f' command.
