Solution
COMMAND DESCRIPTION
addboard
Assigns, connects, and configures an available component (System Board or IO Board) to a domain.
addcodlicense
Adds a COD RTU license to the SC's COD license database.
addtag
Assigns a domain name (tag) to a domain. Can be used to change a tag name as well.
cancelcmdsync
Removes a command synchronization descriptor from the command synchronization list to ensure that a user specified script is
executed only once if the SC's failover.
console
Remote network console connection from the SC to domain.
deleteboard
Detaches and unassigns a component (System Board or IO Board) from a domain only if the board is in the assigned or
connected/configured state.
deletecodlicense
Deletes a COD RTU license to the SC's COD license database.
deletetag
Removes a domain name (tag) associated with the domain.
disablecomponent
Adds a specified component(s) to the platform or domain blacklist file. This prevents the component(s) from being included
in the domain configuration in the next HPOST operation, thus removing the components from inclusion in the booted domain.
enablecomponent
Removes a specified component from the domain, platform, or Automatic System Recovery (ASR) blacklist file. The component is
now available to the domain for booting and thus will be tested by HPOST during a setkeyswitch or reboot operation.
flashupdate
Updates the system controller (SC) and System Board Flash PROMs.
help
Displays information about SMS commands.
initcmdsync
Creates a command synchronization descriptor that identifies a user script that should be recovered if an SC failover occurs.
moveboard
Attempts to remove a component that may be currently configured and active in one domain and reassign and activate the component
into a different domain.
poweroff
Powers off a specified component.
poweron
Powers on a specified component.
rcfgadm
Performs remote dynamic reconfiguration actions on components.
reset
Sends reset to all ports (CPU or I/O) of a specified domain.
resetsc
Sends a reset signal to the other system controller. If the other system controller is not present, the resetsc command exits
with an error. When an SC failover occurs, the new MAIN SC automatically sends a resetsc to the former MAIN.
runcmdsync
Prepares a specified user script for recovery after an SC failover.
savecmdsync
Adds a marker that identifies a location in the script from which processing can be resumed after an SC failover.
setbus
Performs dynamic bus reconfiguration on active expanders in a domain so they use one specific CSB or both.
setcsn
Used to set the Chassis Serial Number (SMS 1.4.1 and above).
setdatasync
Modifies the data propagation list used in data synchronization.
setdate
Sets the date and time for the system controller or the domain.
setdefaults
Removes all instances of a previously active domain and all COD information. IDPROM information is the only unaffected data.
setfailover
Modifies the state of the system controller failover mechanism to enable, disable, or force system controller failover.
setkeyswitch
Changes the position of the domain virtual keyswitch, to power off or on the components and prepare for booting or domain
shutdown.
setobpparams
Sets up certain domain OpenBoot (OBP) parameters.
setupplatform
Sets up the slot ACL (Available Component List) for domains. ACL is not mandatory, but is a way to configure certain
administrators permissions only to certain components.
showboards
Shows the component assignment information and status of the components. System Clock status is now displayed by this command
(SMS 1.4.1 and above).
showbus
Displays the bus configuration of expanders in active domains.
showcmdsync
Displays the command synchronization list that the spare will use in the event of an SC failover in order to restart certain
user defined scripts or commands.
showcodlicense
Displays COD license information stored in the COD license database.
showcodusage
Displays a summary of COD RTU licenses used and installed, along with the current state of the COD resource.
showcomponent
Displays domain, platform, or ASR blacklist file status for a component.
showdatasync
Displays the status of SMS data synchronization for SC failover.
showdate
Displays the date and time for a system controller or a domain.
showdevices
Displays system board devices and resource usage information.
showenvironment
Displays the environmental data on the platform (temperature, voltages, power supply failures, etc).
showfailover
Manages or displays SC failover status.
showkeyswitch
Displays the position of the domain virtual keyswitch.
showlogs
Displays message log files for domains or platforms depending on usage.
showobpparams
Displays certain domain OBP parameters set using the setobpparams command.
showplatform
Displays the board ACL for domains, domain ethernet addresses, domain tag information, COD information (SMS 1.4.1 and above),
as well as domain state.
showxirstate
Display CPU dump information after sending a reset pulse (command 'reset -x') to the processors.
smsbackup
The system controller SMS backup utility for the Sun Fire[TM] 12K/15K/E20K/E25K configuration.
smsconfig
The system controller SMS configuration utility for the Sun Fire[TM] 12K/15K/E20K/E25K system. Used to configure the Management
Network, platform security, as well as user group privileges.
smsconnectsc
Creates a TIP session to the remote SC. The command will fail to connect if an external serial console connection is already
established.
smsinstall
Installs the SMS software onto an SC.
smsrestore
The system controller SMS restoration utility for the Sun Fire[TM] 12K/15K/E20K/E25K configuration.
smsupgrade
Upgrades the SMS software environment on an SC.
smsversion
The system controller SMS version utility. Can be used to switch between two co-installed SMS versions.
testemail
Enables you to generate test events and verify that they are logged reported by email correctly.
