PreviouslyPublishedAs 213556 Description As per new ses 1102 FW, Midplane sensors are not read by ses. This is changed in design by DotHill. Instead, those values are substituted by a calculation from IOM temperature sensors. Refer to internal section for more details. It is done to avoid polling the LM75C midplane temperature sensors which are subject to "lockup" (chip design flaw) which in turn locks up the I2C busses. By substituting the values from the IOM sensors, no one has to re-write any scripts that performed enclosure monitoring. The Midplane sensors are NOT needed for over-temp protection and the IOM sensors will detect any over-temp condition long before the midplane sensors would have.
