Description
This document will show you how to blacklist components such as CPU's, system boards, memory and even half of the centerplane for the Sun Enterprise[TM] 10000.



Steps to Follow
Log into the SSP and edit the file:

1. vi /var/opt/SUNWssp/etc/<plaform-name>/blacklist

and add the following parameters for the corresponding component/action:

Component/Action	Parameter	Example
CPU	proc <system-board>.<proc-number>	proc 1.2
System board	sysbd <system-bd number>	sysbd 10
sbus card	scard <sb>.<ioctl>.<slot>	scard 4.1.0
Disable memory	mem <sb>	mem 0
Disable half of the centerplane	cplane <half-centerplane>	cplane 1
Disable a port controller	pc <sb>.<pc>	pc 0.1
Disable an xdb	xdb <sb>.<xdb>	xdb 0.2
Disable a cic	cic <sb>.<cic>	cic 0.1

Note: for the blacklist entry to take effect, the domain must be restarted via a bringup command.
