Description
The purpose of this document is to provide the user with the steps necessary to identify, locate and download the Sun StorEdge[TM] 5210/5310/5310c Management Information Base (mibs) used for Simple Network Management Protocol (snmp).

Steps to Follow
The folloiwng mib files are included with the 5210/5310/5310c for use with snmp:

se5210_1.mib
se5310_1.mib
se5310c_.mib
Each mib is specific to a particular NAS model. You must identify which NAS
model you are using and download the appropriate mib to support it.
These mib files can be obtained in 1 of 2 ways. The
easiest method of obtaining the mibs is by connecting to
the 5210/5310/5310c with your browser and saving the desired
mib to disk.
Procedure 1:
------------
Enter the following url into the address bar of your browser and
hit the return key. Where <ip_or_name> is the ip address or host
name of the 5210/5310/5310c:
http://<ip_or_name>/mib
A web page with the following 3 mib files will display.
select the desired mib, right click it and save it to disk.
	 se5210_1.mib
	 se5310_1.mib
	 se5310c_.mib
The mib file is now located on the local host and ready to be placed on
the snmp server.
Procedure 2:
------------
The second method is to identify which os directory was used to boot the
5210/5310/5310c and download the appropriate mib(s) from the 5210/5310/5310c
via an ftp connection.
Telnet to the 5210/5310/5310c, identify the os directory, verify that
ftp is enabled and that the admin user has access.
# telnet <ip_or_name>
When connected, in response to the "connect to (? for list) ? [menu]"
prompt, enter "admin" (supply the admin password if requested). The
admin commandline promt will now display.
Identify the os directory by entering the following command:
SE5310 > cat /cvol/defstart
This command will list a 1 or 2 indicating which os directory
was used to boot the 5210/5310/5310c.
1 indicates that the boot directory is nf1
2 indicates that the boot directory is nf2
Make note of the boot directory as it is needed a bit later.
Next, guarantee that the ftp module is loaded.
SE5310 > load ftpd
After loading the ftp module, start the commandline menu system
SE5310 > menu
Using the space bar, scroll the "Extensions" until
"FTP Configuration" is visable
Enter the letter preceeding "FTP Configuration" and
verify that both "Enable FTP" and "Allow admin access"
is set to YES. If either are set to NO, make
necessary adjustments. Do not forget to save
the changes.
Now all of the pieces are in place to allow us to download the
mibs via ftp. The mibs are located in the /cvol/nf#/www/data/mib
directory where nf# is the boot directory for your 5210/5310/5310c
as determined and saved from above.
Establish an ftp conection to the 5210/5310/5310c, provide the
admin user name and password if required, set mode to ascii, change
directory to the mib directory, list the contents of the directory
and get the required mib. See below for a sample ftp session.
