Solution  1006274.1 :   How to change the User LAN port IP address on a Sun StorEdge[TM] 6320 or a Sun StorEdge[TM] 6920

Description

On many occasions, customers change their network topology and require a change to the IP address of the user LAN port on a Sun StorEdge[TM] 6320 or on a Sun StorEdge (SE)6920. This is the port connected to the customer's admin network, and allows access to the storage through the firewall.

Steps to Follow

In order to change the user LAN port address, first login to the storage management software as the user admin.

 # cd /opt/se6x20/cli/bin
# ./sscs login -h 10.4.144.190 -u admin
Enter password: !admin 

Then, issue the following command to change the user LAN port configuration.

 # ./sscs modify -d on/off -n "Name server IP address" -i "IP address" -g "default gateway" -m "netmask" net

 -d : use dhcp on/off
-n : domain ip address
-i : ip address
-g : default gateway
-m : netmask

Note:
You should not use an address of the internal address range 10.0.0.x/24

Example:
(1) Changing IP address

[sp0]# ./sscs list net
Network Configuration:
IP: 163.121.164.22
dhcp: Off
gateway: 163.121.164.20
nameserver: 163.121.164.20
netmask: 255.255.252.0
domain: localdomain
domain: localdomain

[sp0]# ./sscs modify -i 163.121.164.20 -m 255.255.252.0 net
Network settings changed. You were logged off and need to re-login.

(2) Changing netmask

[sp0]# ./sscs login -h localhost -u admin
The password is !admin

[sp0]# ./sscs list net
Network Configuration:
IP: 163.121.164.20
dhcp: Off
gateway: 163.121.164.20
nameserver: 163.121.164.20
netmask: 255.255.252.0
domain: localdomain

[sp0]# ./sscs modify -m 255.255.255.0 net
Network settings changed. You were logged off and need to re-login.

[sp0]# ./sscs login -h localhost -u admin
The password is !admin

[sp0]# ./sscs list net
Network Configuration:
IP: 163.121.164.20
dhcp: Off
gateway: 163.121.164.20
nameserver: 163.121.164.20
netmask: 255.255.255.0
domain: localdomain
