SolutionSteps to FollowHow do I configure a local/global spare on a Sun Storage 3310, 3320, 3510 or 3511 Array?In this example, the global spare is created on disk 3.0 Create Global Spare with sccli: # sccli configure global-spare 3.0 In this example we created a local spare from disk 3, logical drive 0. Create Local Spare with sccli: # sccli configure local-spare 3.0 ld0 Create Global or Local Spare with telnet or serial connection: 1. Telnet or tip thru serial port to array. # telnet 10.1.229.120 10.1.229.120 is the address of your Sun StorEdge disk. Or # tip -38400 /dev/ttyb 2. Select view and edit Drives 3. Select a disk drive in the table. 4. Select either add Local spare drive or add Global spare drive from the submenu. 5. For local spares, select the logical drive that the spare will be associated. 5. Select 'yes' when prompted.
