Steps to Follow 6920 Volume Deletion A. Validate if the Volume is Mapped Make sure that the volume details via SSCS shows nothing in Associations field, or the State field in the BUI shows Free. Reference <Document: 1009974.1> Validating Volume State and Details on a Sun StorEdge[TM] 6920
B. Validate if the Volume is a Snapshot Parent Make sure that the volume details via SSCS shows nothing in the Snapshots field, or that BUI shows the number of snapshots in Additional Information equals zero(0). C. Validate if a Mirror Component is a snapshot parent Make sure that the volume details for each component of the main mirror device via SSCS shows nothing in the Snapshots field, or that BUI shows the number of snapshots in Additional Information equals zero(0). D. Validate if the Volume is part of a Replication Set Make sure that the volume summary via SSCS does not show the type as Replicated, or that BUI shows the number of replication sets in Additional Information equals zero(0). E. Basic Usage Using Browser or SSCS interfaces SSCS Volume deletion usage for sscs, can be reviewed in the Sun StorEdge 6920 System CLI Quick Reference Guide, Release 3.0. The sscs usage for basic volume deletion is as follows. sscs delete [-S|--sdomain <string>] volume <volume-name> An example: sscs delete volume 100GBvol This will delete the volume is called 100GBvol. NOTE1: The Storage Domain is assumed to be DEFAULT when it is not specified by the -S switch in the usage BUI Volume Deletion steps for the BUI can be reviewed in Sun StorEdge 6920 System Administration Guide For the Browser Interface Management Software, Release 3.0 for help with other object creation activities. Volume deletion for the BUI interface of the 6920 is completed as follows:
At this point the Pop-Up window will disappear, and the main browser screen will refresh, and a success or failure message will be displayed in the Volume Summary page. The volume will no longer be listed.
