Steps to Follow

From Appendix B of the SPARCstorage(R) Multipack 2 Service Manual:
B.3 Termination
Each SPARCstorage Multipack 2 drive enclosure comes with an external
single-ended terminator.  For UltraSCSI operation, do not use the
external terminator.  The on-board autoterminator functions in UltraSCSI mode.
For Fast SCSI operation, install the terminator on the SCSI OUT port of the
SPARCstorage Multipack 2 unit after it is connected it to the host.
NOTE - When an external terminator is attached, the auto-termination indicator
LEDs do not light.
