Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 1002880.1 : How do I set up /kernel/drv/sd.conf for Sun StorEdge[TM] 3120,3310 and 3320 arrays? [Video]
PreviouslyPublishedAs 203962 Description For the Sun StorEdge[TM] 3120, 3310, and 3320 array connecting to the Solaris[TM] OS, ensure that the operating system can recognize multiple LUNS under the same target. You might need to modify /kernel/drv/sd.conf for additional host LUN assignments. Video - Configuring /kernel/drv/sd.conf for a SCSI based Array (03:36) Sunsolve users must download the attachment to view the video. Steps to Follow How do I set up /kernel/drv/sd.conf for Sun StorEdge[TM] 3120,3310 and 3320 arrays? 1. Determine the target and LUN numbers being used. With sccli, use 'sccli show lun-maps' command. Please see named 10000000000002470000016CC44C09A9.png below. You can also view this information via the telnet or serial connection (tip session) main menu. From the main menu, select View and edit Host luns . The next screen shown will give the channel (CHL) and target (ID) numbers. Select the channel and target show the LUN numbers associated with that target. 2. Copy the /kernel/drv/sd.conf file # cp /kernel/drv/sd.conf /kernel/drv/sd.conf.org 3. Edit the /kernel/drv/sd.conf file to include the additional target and LUNs. The additional entries can be put at the bottom of the file. Each target/LUN should have an entry that looks like: name= sd class= scsi target=<target> lun=<lun>; where <target> is the target number and the <lun> is the LUN number gotten from step 1. Example: Please see named 10000000000002470000016C805B6441.png below. 3. Reconfigure reboot. NOTE: If Solaris[TM] 10 is the OS, then a 'update_drv -f sd' command can be used followed by a 'devfsadm' command as well.
