PreviouslyPublishedAs 203099 Description While upgrading Sun[TM] Advanced Lights Out Management (ALOM) software on Sun Fire[TM] or Netra[TM] systems, the error message "scadm: download failed, SC reported range error" may indicate a corrupt file. Steps to Follow Upgrading the ALOM on Sun Fire[TM] V210, V240, V250, V440, Netra[TM] 240 servers requires the use of two firmware files. alombootfw alommainfw If either file is corrupt or if the boot option is used while upgrading alommainfw; the following error will occur. scadm: download failed, SC reported range error After issuing the scadm commands; The following messages should be received after successfully completing each command. /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/scadm download boot alombootfw Please wait for verification ... /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/scadm download alommainfw .................... (100%) Please wait for verification ...
